Invited Talk on Financial Derivatives

On 15th October 2018, an invited talk on the topic Financial Derivatives was delivered by Dr. Arun Lawrence, Assistant Professor of Commerce, Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram . Shri. Akhil Madhusoodhanan Pillai, II year M. Com student from the Department of Commerce, welcomed the gathering. The presidential address was given by Smt. Suma R, Associate Professor and Head, Department of commerce. The function was formally inaugurated by Sri. A H Badrudeen, Principal in charge, Mannaniya College. Ms.Asha, II year M.Com student, proposed the vote of thanks.

Presentation on Research Methodologies

On November 11, 2018, Dr. K Satheesh Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Future Studies, Karyavattom Campus, Thiruvananthapuraman gave a talk on Research Methodologies. Smt. Suma R, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Commerce, welcomed the gathering and the function was formally inaugurated by Sri. A.H. Badrudeen, Principal in charge, Mannaniya College. In the keynote address, Dr K Satheesh Kumar gave a lucid explanation about the various research methodologies and its limitations. He also elucidated how the network analysis could be effectively used in future research endeavors. The students were also introduced to the various websites dealing with commerce and business studies which could be of some help to them. Smt. Mumthas Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, proposed the vote of thanks.

Invited Talk on Wildlife Tourism

The Commerce and Tourism Club of the Mannaniya College of Arts and Science has organized an invited talk on Wildlife Tourism on 5th February 2019. As part of the event, there was a Poster Exhibition arranged by the first year B. Com. Tourism and Travel Management students at the college seminar hall. Smt. Suma. R, Head of the Department of Commerce, welcomed the gathering. The function was formally inaugurated by Sri. A.H. Badrudeen, Principal in charge, Mannaniya College and the keynote address was given by Sri. Sali Palode, Wildlife photographer. He gave an idea about the scope of wildlife tourism within India and abroad. He also discussed about the various problems faced by the tourism department in expanding wildlife tourism. Stunning photographs of the indigenous flora and fauna of the Western Ghats was put on display. It excited the gathering and inspired the students take an oath to preserve our incredible wildlife. Vote of thanks was given by Sri. Aseem. J, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce.

National seminar on Financial Market.

The Commerce Association has organized a two-day National Seminar on 16-17 March, 2018. It was formally inaugurated by Dr. Gabriel Simon Thattil, Professor, Department of Commerce, School of Business Management and Legal Studies, University of Kerala. He delivered the keynote address on the topic Financial Market.

National Seminar on GST.

The two-day National seminar on GST- Indirect Tax Reforms in India was formally inaugurated by Sri Thyagaraja Babu, Deputy Commissioner, GST Department, Government of Kerala. The keynote address for the second session was given by Dr. Baiju Ramachandran, Chairman, BRACS, Director, Indian Chamber of Commerce on GST – A leap towards Growth. On the second day of the seminar, Dr. Gabriel Simon Thattil, Professor, Department of Commerce, School of Business Management and Legal Studies, University of Kerala spoke on the topic GST- Opportunities and Challenges. GST and Business was the topic of discussion for the second day. It was led by Dr M Wilson, Professor of Management Studies, Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education, Tamil Nadu.
