Swachh Bharat Mission

“A clean india would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth Anniversary in 2019”, said Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as he launched the Swachh Bhrat Mission on 2nd October 2014 at Rajpath in New Delhi. The campaign aims to achieve the vision of a clean India by 2nd October 2019. Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) or Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a campaign by the Government of India to keep the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country’s rural areas clean.

Objectives

➢ To create a genuine demand for sustainable sanitation.

➢ To change the attitudes and behavior of common people.

➢ To bring about an improvement in the general quality of life in the rural areas.

➢ To promote cleanliness and hygiene.

➢ To eliminate open defecation.

➢ To accelerate sanitation coverage in rural areas.

➢ To collect and dispose waste in a scientific manner.

With the purpose of achieving the above-mentioned goals, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of our institution suggested to implement Swachh Bharat Mission (SBH) unit in our college. The SBH in Mannaniya College of Arts and Science was constituted during the academic year 2017-18.
