RED RIBBON CLUB

The Red Ribbon Club of Kerala State AIDS Control Society (KSACS) roofs and encourages blood donors across the state to continue the task and rope in further volunteers in the heroic endeavour. The Kerala State AIDS Control Society (KSACS), the parent organisation plays a pivotal role in the state’s strategy in combating the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It works under the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) which is a part of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India.

The Red Ribbon Club of the Mannaniya College of Arts and Science was started in the year 2013. It aspires to promote a healthy and safe lifestyle by which one can be made capable and fit enough to donate blood as and when required. This will help in controlling and combating AIDS in the long run.
The Red Ribbon Club executes its objectives by holding donation camps every year in the college and across the nearby regions. It spreads awareness about the best practices of blood donation and also sets guidelines. The volunteers are given instructions regarding the ‘do’s and don’ts for blood donation, thereby maintaining a group of regular donors. The club also conducts AIDS awareness rallies.
